Singapore Airlines is currently offering customers flying Business, First and Suites a 70th Anniversary amenity kit featuring The Laundress laundry products as well as a hand cream that is not oily and lip balm created exclusively for the airline by Buzz Products. Singapore Airlines is the first airline to offer fabric care items on flights. The airline has stopped offering Business Class customers amenity kits and this comes as a delightful surprise for travellers in Business Class.
The Laundress by Gwen Whiting and Lindsey Boyd offers an eco-friendly line of detergent, fabric care and home-cleaning products. Products contain plant-derived ingredients that are free of allergens, sodium lauryl sulphate, petroleum, phthalates, phosphate, parabens and chlorine bleach. They are also formulated with active ingredients such as enzymes, colour guard, and bleach alternative that preserve fabrics and colours while targeting stains.
The Wash and Stain Bar is useful for removing hard-to-erase accidental stains or those hard-to-reach stains from ‘ring around the collar’ delicate straps or red wine spills. Lather with soap and water for a complete wash, or later soap with water on stained area and launder as normal or leave on fabric for up to a week before washing.
The Crease Release is a quick fix to easily remove moderate wrinkles from clothing and fabrics when you are on the go. Just spray on crease lines and save the hassle of ironing.
A Fabric Fresh Classic containing antibacterial properties that add scent while removing odour from its source, freshening clothing when travelling is provided in a white version of the kit.
The handy-sized zipper pouch measures 17.5 cm x 12 cm. It features a textured leather like material with the 70th Anniversary and a Singapore Airlines logo while the interior is lined with felt. A zipper plastic bag is included for you to throw in your wash and stain bar after using it.
Buzz Products is headquartered in Melbourne and also has a presence in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Dubai, Milan, London and Los Angeles. It offers a whole range of services to airlines to offer its passengers a better passenger experience. They have also designed, developed and manufactured amenity kits such as the Etihad Airways Christian Lacroix or LUXE Guides Business Class Kits, Qantas First Class SKII Amenity Kits and Kate Spade & Jack Spade Business Class kits as well as the airline’s latest Qantas Curates Business Class kits and Delta Airlines kits amongst other airlines.
Buzz Products also offers a premium range of sleep wear for Qantas, Etihad Airways and United. Check out an Instagram video we uploaded in 2016 featuring sleep wear from a couple of airlines.
Singapore Airlines First Class Amenities
Singapore Airlines spoils its customers in First and Suites with amenity kits by Salvatore Ferragamo. The kit for male passengers contains a 30ml bottle of Salvatore Ferragamo’s Acqua Essenziale Blu Eau de Toilette which exudes masculinity, intensity, energy and sensuality. It has a base of cedarwood, patchouli, ambrox and benzoin. There are hints of bergamot, grapefruit and cardamom in the top note with middle notes of lavender and tonka bean. Previous versions of the airline’s First Class amenity kit offered the Acqua Essenziale Eau de Toilette which features a breezy blend of the precious Mediterranean sea with aromatic woods.
The kit also contains a cleansing towel, a 10ml lip balm and 30ml after shave balm. It is not cluttered with other items that are separately provided such as the slippers, socks, eyeshades and ear plugs. More amenities are available in the lavatory. A drawer usually opens up to reveal a supply of toothbrush, shavers and shaving creams, sanitary napkins and air sickness bags. Moisturisers and Eau De Toilette from Salvatore Ferragamo and Mouthwash are also available.
The cloth zipper wash bag measures 20 cm x 14 cm x 6 cm and has side compartments inside. It has the logo of Salvatore Ferragamo sewn on one side and Singapore Airlines’ logo printed on the other side. We also understand that there are other versions of the amenity kit.
The women get a maroon bag containing Salvatore Ferragamo’s range of Signorina Elegeanza products including a bottle of 30ml Eau De Parfum, a cleaning towel, a 10ml lip balm and a 30ml hand cream. A clip-on strap is included so the bag can be transformed into a sling bag. The bag measures 17 cm x 13 cm x 3cm.
It also has the Salvatore Ferragamo logo on one side of the bag and the Singapore Airlines’ logo sewn on the other.
Singapore Airlines also offers First Class and Suites customers sleepwear. For red eye and long haul flights, the sleepwear is thick enough to keep you warm and comfortable. The zipper on the top bears the logo of Singapore Airlines.
Singapore Airlines takes all effort to make sure its premium customers have a memorable and pleasant experience.
Economy Class Amenity Kits
Customers in Economy Class flying mid to long haul or red eye flights also get a basic amenity kit that comes in a zipper wash bag. Inside the bag are a pair of socks, toothbrush and toothpaste. Now that leaves Business Class passengers without an amenity kit, but they get the amazing spacious flat bed seats on the long haul flights as well as food and service that kind of makes up for the lack of a kit.
