Aerotel Kuala Lumpur, the airport hotel operated by Plaza Premium Group, opened 1 March 2018 in Gateway@KLIA2 mall that is located at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2. The mall and transit hotel are in the public unrestricted area. KLIA2 handled over 30.3 million passengers in 2017 whilst 17.16 million passengers have already come through this terminal as of July 2018.

The 78 rooms here are available in blocks of six hours starting from MYR280 the Solo Plus Room, MYR 364 for the Double Plus Room and MYR571 for the Double Squared or Family Room. Guests enjoy a 15% savings off all room rates for stays before 31 December 2018.

On 28 August 2018, the hotel was officially opened by YB Anthony Loke, Malaysia’s Minister of Transport and Mr Song Hoi-See, the Founder and CEO of Plaza Premium Group during a ceremony which was attended by over 150 trade partners, media and guests.

Aerotel Kuala Lumpur Room Types

Solo Plus Room

The lead-in category of rooms at Aerotel Kuala Lumpur is the Solo Plus room. These rooms are on the smaller side at around 20 sqm. If you are travelling solo, this room does its job for a good rest and comfortable shower.

All 78 rooms feature ensuite showers and WC, individually controlled air-conditioning, cable television, hairdryer, complimentary hi-speed Wi-Fi, electric kettle, coffee/tea making facilities, security key access, bedside table and writing table and chair. Disposable bedroom slippers are also provided. There are sufficient electrical sockets throughout the room so you can charge up your gadgets.

Double Plus Room

Double Plus rooms are much larger and hence much more comfortable. The first room I got was the Solo Plus room but was fortunate to change to a Double Plus room. I found the Solo Plus room a little too small for comfort.

Double Squared Room with 2 double beds

The Double Squared room features two double beds and can accommodate up to four persons.

Family Room

The Family room is around 34 sqm and comes with one double bed and two single beds.

The ensuite bathrooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Fresh bath and hand towels are provided. And if you forgot your toothbrush and toothpaste, these are also provided.

Aerotel Kuala Lumpur Naturals Liquid Soap Smart Care and Body Lotion Organic Olive 300ml

Similar to the amenities provided at Aerotel Singapore, Naturals soap products are provided. The 300ml dispensers of organic lemon extract and an organic hand and body lotion are also available on sale from ada-shop.com or from Aerotel. Naturals fresh body care line is made from carefully selected botanical extracts and oils from controlled organic cultivation.

Aerotel Kuala Lumpur Naturals Hair & Body Shampoo – Smart Care 300ml

A two-in-one hair and body shampoo is provided for your shower. Unlike the Aerotel in Singapore Changi Airport’s Terminal 1, there is a handheld shower head without rain shower.  And you also get a high-pressure hot shower.

The Bar at Plaza Premium Lounge just next to Aerotel Kuala Lumpur

If you need a drink or some food, you don’t have to go far. Located just opposite the hotel reception is The BAR by Plaza Premium Lounge.  A variety of teas are available at MYR7 or Soft Drinks at MYR8, Juices at MY18, Coffee from MYR10, Mocktails at MYR21or cocktails from MYR39 and liquor from MYR25 are available. Beers are also available in 1/2 pints, full pints or bottled and are priced from MYR29. Try the signature cocktails – Aero Breeze, Aero Tini or Strawberry Long Island at MYR42 each.

Snacks and all day dining are available as well. You can indulge in snacks such as cajun popcorn chicken (MYR15), Fish cake with chilli dip (six pieces for MYR20), french fries (MYR10), six pieces fried chicken wings (MYR18), The Golden platter of french fries, potato wedges, crispy spring rolls and samosa topped with grated parmesan cheese (MYR25), and much more. And if you want something more substantial, the all-day menu includes four-piece assorted German sausages at MYR24, Beef Burger (MYR35), Chicken Pie (MYR15), Chicken Chop with mash potato and mixed peas (MYR25),Chicken Burger with a fried egg, tomato,onion slivers, garden greens and french fries (MYR25), Mini Fish and Chips (MYR25) and more.

Adjacent to The Bar is a new 24-hour Plaza Premium Lounge. The Plaza Premium lounge offers a spread of hot dishes, noodles prepared a la minute and a selection of beverages. The lounge has comfortable sofa seats, work desks, and dining tables. Charging stations and complimentary Wi-Fi are also available.
