Lhasa is the capital city of the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China. The City of Sunshine is a mystical destination where ancient spirituality and stunning natural beauty converge. Perched at an altitude of 3,650 metres, it is home to iconic landmarks like the majestic Potala Palace, the sacred Jokhang Temple, and the lively Sera and Drepung Monasteries. Visitors can immerse themselves in Tibetan culture by exploring Barkhor Street’s vibrant markets, witnessing traditional monk debates, and experiencing local festivals like Losar and the Shoton Festival. Surrounded by the Himalayan mountains and serene lakes like Yamdrok and Namtso, Lhasa offers an ethereal natural backdrop. While its high altitude poses a physical challenge, the city rewards travellers with a journey of the soul, blending spiritual reflection with unforgettable adventure.

To celebrate the launch, West Air will introduce special fares. Round-trip fares from Lhasa to Singapore start from RMB1,888 and from Chongqing to Singapore from RMB 1,400, both inclusive of taxes. One-way fares to Singapore start at RMB350 excluding taxes and fares from Singapore start at S$70 excluding taxes.

Flying with West Air offers a range of perks, including a 10% discount on tickets for small group travellers who book at least seven days in advance. International students and their immediate family members can enjoy an extra 20kg of baggage allowance. Travellers can also take advantage of the Baggage Beneficial Offer, which provides a 30kg free baggage limit. Additionally, West Air offers preferential fares on connecting flights through intermodal transport with Hainan Airlines and other domestic partners, making travel even more seamless and cost-effective.

West Air, a subsidiary of HNA Airlines, has been steadily expanding its international network from Chongqing. Since 2016, it has introduced direct flights connecting Chongqing to key destinations like Singapore, Phuket, Osaka, Mandalay, Jeju, Bangkok, and Hanoi. With a focus on supporting China’s “Belt and Road” initiative and boosting regional development, the airline plans to further increase its investments in these markets and launch new routes to cater to rising passenger demand.
