Hokkaido is the largest and northernmost of Japan’s 47 prefectures. It offers an abundance of unspoiled nature and all year cooling weather, making it a popular destination for onsen (hot spring) lovers, photographers and hikers.  Winter is a great time to visit and getting to Hokkaido means flying into Sapporo.

Tsurui Village(鶴居村)

My team has travelled to Hokkaido a couple of times over the years and have many stories to share. One of the many reasons why people visit Hokkaido is because of the food. Follow the gourmet journey of Maureen from MISSTAMCHIAK.com and Dennis from SUPERADRIANME.com.  They both flew on Scoot. Watch to the end as the two give tips about the airport in Hokkaido.

I went on vacation to Sapporo with my family and relatives in 2014 where we stayed at the Mercure Sapporo.  You want to check out our review about this hotel.

It will be cold year end, but what kind of winter gear do you need for the trip? Check out the SUPERADRIANME winter gear guide. You will be surprised how many of us forget the importance of having water proof pants and shoes too.
