Hong Kong Welcomes 2020 With Light Show Above Victoria Harbour

Victoria Harbour will get an enhanced edition of A Symphony of Lights light and music show to ring in 2020. The facade of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre will turn into a giant clock to count down to the new year at 11.59 pm on 31 December 2019.

At midnight, an enhanced version of the multimedia show will commence. Numerous harbour-front buildings will be illuminated by lasers, searchlights, LED screens and other lighting effects and synchronised with pyrotechnics launched from rooftops and display of “2020” on the facade of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

More details of the Hong Kong New Year Countdown event will be available online at www.discoverhongkong.com/countdown on Christmas day 25 December 2019.

Watch Online and on Social Media

The show will be live-streamed on the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s official website and social media platforms Facebook and YouTube. Live satellite feed of the 10-minute show will be provided to media organisations around the world to share the festivities with the rest of the world.

For the first time, both in-town visitors and locals can participate in a first-ever lucky draw by registering on www.hknycd.com on 31 December 2019 between 6 pm and 11.30 pm Hong Kong time.
