I just got back from Yilan last week having stayed at the Silks Place Yilan, in Yilan County. Visited some of the bright and colourful attractions in this small town popular with domestic tourists. Yilan is also known for its hot springs and sodium bicarbonate mineral water.
Westin Hotels and Resorts has opened its third Westin branded hotel. The Westin Yilan Resort by Yilan Lealea Development Holdings Co., Ltd, is the brand’s first hot spring resort in Taiwan. It joins The Westin Tashee Resort in Taoyuan as well as The Westin Taipei, a city hotel. The Westin brand is expected to open another 12 hotels in the Greater China region in the next five years joining the existing portfolio of 23 hotels in the region.
The 85 guest rooms and six luxurious pool villas are equipped with fresh, natural hot spring water with private pools in the rooms. The resort has a residential and intimate feel and is designed with a biophilic-focus. Other amenities include the Heavenly Spa by Westin, a pool, a WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio, RunWESTIN programme and Westin’s Gear Lending programme in partnership with New Balance, three dining venues and a reinvented Kids Club concept.
The Westin Yilan Resort is 1.5 hours drive from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, an hour from Taipei Songshan Airport, or 20 minutes from the Yilan Railway Station. To celebrate its opening, there is an opening package of NT$9,500 net during weekdays and NT$11,500 net during weekends per night for a Deluxe Room, inclusive of breakfast and dinner for two till 30 June 2017.
