United Airlines Rolls Out Starlink Wi-Fi on Regional Fleet – Faster, Free In-Flight Connectivity

United Airlines is transforming in-flight connectivity with the rollout of Starlink Wi-Fi across its regional fleet, delivering unparalleled speed and reliability for passengers. This major innovation will allow travellers to stream, browse, and game with lightning-fast, free Wi-Fi, setting a new benchmark for the aviation industry.

Faster, Smarter, and More Efficient Connectivity

United has successfully installed Starlink on its first regional aircraft, with plans to equip over 40 aircraft per month from May 2025, with the entire two-cabin regional fleet expected to be upgraded by the year’s end.

Why Starlink?

Starlink is revolutionising in-flight Wi-Fi with its rapid installation, requiring just 8 hours—nearly 10 times faster than conventional systems. Its lightweight 85-pound design makes it significantly more fuel-efficient and eco-friendly. Offering ultra-fast speeds of up to 250 Mbps, Starlink delivers Wi-Fi that is 50 times faster than current regional aircraft networks. Thanks to its inter-satellite laser link technology, passengers can enjoy seamless connectivity, even in adverse weather conditions, ensuring a reliable and high-performance in-flight experience.

Free Wi-Fi & Next-Level In-Flight Entertainment

United is offering Starlink Wi-Fi free of charge to all MileagePlus® members, enabling passengers to stream films, browse the internet, shop online, and play games with ease at 35,000 feet. Not a member yet? Join for free at united.com/starlink.

What’s Next for United?

This rollout is only the beginning. United is set to equip its entire regional fleet with Starlink Wi-Fi, ensuring a faster, smarter, and smoother travel experience for all.
