The next time you visit Bangkok to shop and eat, stay at the Siam@Siam Design Hotel Bangkok located within walking distance to Siam Discovery, MBK and many malls in that area. The 220-room hotel’s nearest BTS station is National Stadium. And if you like to soak in the Thai culture, the hotel has been given a contemporary Thai Industrial style decor to give you exactly that feeling.
Along the same stretch are other hotels that belong to international chains such as the Holiday Inn Express, Mercure and Ibis. Siam@Siam stands out from the other hotels in the area because of its boutique hotel feel.
Staff members of this hotel are warm and hospitable. The moment you step into the hotel, you are made to feel as if you have returned home. A friend of mine stayed at this hotel after seeing my Instagram post. She shared her experience. She and a friend arrived at the hotel lobby drenched because of the heavy rain. The first thing the lobby staff did was to give them towels to dry themselves. After which they checked in and got a complimentary upgrade. You can imagine how the rest of their vacation turned out after that.

Rooms at Siam@Siam Design Hotel Bangkok
The 92 entry-level Deluxe Guest rooms at Siam@Siam are spacious and I like it that the flooring is mostly wooden without carpets. They are around 28 sqm. Each room comes with a sofa seating area with varying window views. My room overlooked the pool which was good if you wanted to see if the pool isn’t too crowded before you headed down for a swim.
Malin and Goetz toiletries from the US were provided in most rooms while Panpuri from Thailand was provided in higher category rooms and suites. Shampoo, hair conditioner and body wash come in 236 ml bottles to reduce wastage of packaging that usually comes in smaller sizes of 30ml. More hotels should adopt this to help reduce wastage.
The bathrooms here have a combined shower and bathtub to save space. There are many different category of rooms suited for individual travellers, couples and families.

Swim & Tan at Siam@Siam Design Hotel Bangkok
The infinity pool is located on the same level as the fitness club on level 11. Popular amongst hotel guests, the pool and pool deck can get crowded as travellers cool down in the hotel’s only pool.
There are many deck chairs, some of which are covered under parasols for those who prefer a shadier option.
The Roof Gastro @25 Floor
The rooftop bar and restaurant is located on the top floor at level 25. There are indoor and uncovered seating spaces that offer a panoramic view of Bangkok. Yes, the view is exceptional and it can get windy as well.
The Roof Gastro is also great for events or small parties. I got to try some of the finger food, amazing oyster shooters and cocktails while enjoying the sunset views.
Taan
Located on the 25th level of Siam@Siam Design Hotel Bangkok, TAAN serves hyperlocal cuisine with seasonal ingredients from independent local farmers. The menu is driven by ingredients which highlights familiar Thai flavours, inspired by hyper-local ingredients and prepared using timeless cooking techniques with unexpected combinations and creative presentation.
Not only does the food you come with robust flavours they also look like works of art.
TAAN’s kitchen is led by chef Monthep Kamolsilp. Check out the full menu. Starters are priced from THB55 per bite while mains start from THB280. A selection of cocktails is also available from THB220. Can’t wait to give try the actual menu this week.
