I was first introduced to the 25hours Hotel brand when Accorhotels acquired 30% stake in the hotel group in 2016 and subsequently I drove past the 25hours Hotel Vienna at MuseumsQuartier later in November the same year during my Trafalgar Imperial Europe trip. So when we ended up in Frankfurt in April this year where the U by Uniworld inaugural sailing of The A completed its cruise, I had to extend my journey and stay at the 25hours Hotel Frankfurt The Goldman.

About 25hours Hotels
I was attracted to the young hotel concept of 25hours Hotels which is characterised by personality and a charming and relaxed service that seeks to find contemporary answers to the demands of urban, cosmopolitan travellers. It focuses on individuality, authenticity and character and designs its hotel in partnership with various designers and in a unique style under the motto “Know one, know none”. The brand was founded in 2005 by Stephan Gerhard, Ardi Goldman, Christoph Hoffman and Kai Hollmann. Till today, it continues to invite guests to ‘come as you are‘. You can expect any 25hours Hotel to be sexy, cheeky, bold, innovative, cosmopolitan, unique, charismatic, a little crazy and locally connected.
Recently opened 25hours Hotels include the Das Tour in Düsseldorf. It opened on 17 May this year and the Paris Club restaurant and Bar started serving French cuisine and wines from 24 May. 25hours Hotel Das Tour’s 17 levels house a total of 198 rooms in a variety of categories and themes. 24 rooms on the south side of the building have their own balconies and French bathtubs. It is located in the new Düsseldorf district of Le Quartier Central.
Today it has properties in Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich, Vienna and Zurich.
New 25hours Hotel locations in the pipeline include The Circle in Cologne (August 2018), Terminus Nord in Paris (July/August 2018), Firenze in Florence (Spring 2020) and One Central in Dubai (Spring 2020).
The 25hours Hotel by Levi’s in Frankfurt am Main will be given a fresh coat of paint by MICHAEL DREHER and will be known as the 25hours Hotel Bahnhofsviertel in August this year. The hotel will be given a gradual modernisation and expansion. A rooftop sauna with a fitness area and a library of lost lands will be added to the property. A Japanese sake bar will be added to the existing food and drink section of the hotel.
Explore 25hours Hotel Frankfurt The Goldman
There are outdoor spaces if you prefer to enjoy some fresh air while soaking the colourful outdoors at the back of the hotel building.
The urinals in the men’s restroom are pretty cool too. All those luscious lips. A must visit when you are here.
25hours Hotel Frankfurt The Goldman bedroom
I was hosted to two nights in an M West room with complimentary breakfast from 21 to 23 April this year. Each of the 97 rooms here are colourful with vintage decor and objects d’art. The rooms in the western wing feature queen size or twin beds. They are equipped with standing showers, a safe, minibar, flat-screen TV, UE Boom sound system, LAN port, free high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and air conditioning.
There are three room categories with M West and M East measuring approximately 22 sqm and the L East which is approximately 28 sqm.
25hours Hotels have partnered with MINI. So if you are a MINI driver, you enjoy a 15% discount off room rates. And if you aren’t you can test drive one for free. You just need to ask at the reception.
Every room is unique here. In fact, when you search 25hours Hotel Frankfurt The Goldman on Google, the result is a plethora of rooms in different colours and layouts. Mine was a shade of purple and themed with leaves giving it a rather relaxing spring feel. The space in the room is not too stifling.
There are many quirky touches in this hotel. And one of them is this owl which can also be purchased from the retail store on level one.
Ultimate Ears is your sound companion in 25hours Hotel rooms offering good 360° sound. These Logitech Bluetooth speakers are also waterproof (IPX7 rated) and can be immersed in water up to 1m for up to 30 minutes. It has a battery life of up to 15 hours between Micro USB charges. The Ultimate Ears BOOM 2 is available on sale from ultimateears.com at S$249. Pair it with your smartphone or tablet and listen to music or watch a movie on Amazon Prime Video or Netflix.
Every room comes with a Freitag bag you can use during your stay. Use it to store your laptop and documents for your work meetings or just to store your shopping. If you like the bag, you can purchase one from the retail store on level one. A range of Freitag wallets and bags are stocked up.
We were also very tickled by the 25hours door hanger on my hotel room door. There are 25 ways to inform housekeeping to clean up the room or to stay away. And it all depends on your mood too. You can purchase one to take home for €10.
I admire 25hours Hotels for doing its part for the environment by using refillable larger pump bottles. The hotel group is working with STOP THE WATER WHILE USING ME! which also reminds us to do exactly that when shampooing or soaping our bodies.
STOP THE WATER WHILE USING ME! is 100% natural, biodegradable and completely free of synthetics. This cosmetics company has a corporate social believe that we should all save water and also not pollute precious water at the same time. The company only uses natural products from predominantly organic farming without parabens, silicones and synthetic ingredients. Also part of its proceeds goes to its GOOD WATER PROJECTS initiative which brings clean drinking water to areas where it is in short supply. The company has built fog nets in Tanzania, turning fog into drinking water for school children. They have also supported LifeStraw project in Kenya and built a water kiosk in Madagascar.
Breakfast and Bar
One of two food and drink outlets within the hotel is oost bar which converts into your breakfast area. Breakfast was the only time I spent dining in the hotel.
Enjoy a cuppa coffee or tea with your breakfast.
Enjoy a wide selection of breads, cold cuts choices of ham, smoked salmon and more as well as hot food. Help yourself to the buffet counter. Cereals and fruits are also available.
In the evenings, the bar serves a selection of homemade signature cocktails or classic cocktails for the not-so-adventurous. Spirits, wines, champagnes, beers or ciders are also available. Pair drinks with bar food and have a great time.
Shop at 25hours Hotel Frankfurt The Goldman
You can buy essentials and not so essential in the lobby. A retail store offers jewellery, toiletries, shades, socks, tote bags, merchandising from Freitag and even gin should you decide to enjoy some in your room.
The Stop the Water While Using Me! toiletries found in your room are also available for sale. Lip balm, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion in large bottles, as well as travel sets, are available for purchase. These make fabulous gifts as well if you want to pass down the socially responsible messaging on to others.
Didn’t get the chance to try some of these Frankfurt Hot Sauce, but I am pretty sure they are great. So if you were missing chilli padi or spices while travelling in Europe, then get some and sprinkle onto your food for some kick.
Schindelhauer bikes are available for rent. The neighbourhood is flat and extremely bike friendly. Scindelhauer’s latest 2018 urban-bike model is a recent winner of Eurobike-Award. If you intend to buy one home, you can visit Bike Boutique Frankfurt at Gallusanlage 7, 60239 Frankfurt.
The hotel does not have its own gym but you can purchase a pass from the reception at the hotel to use the Fitness First just down the street.
The Neighbourhood
The East houses food and beverage outlets, the REWE supermarket, Commerzbank and ATMs, a drug store, vaporiser store and sporting goods store. INNSIDE by Melia Frankfurt Ostend is located here.
If you need to get some groceries, REWE is well stocked up. The supermarket is open daily except on Sundays from 7 am and closes at 12 midnight except for Saturdays where they close 11.30 pm.
You have to visit the Globetrotter Frankfurt Store. There is over 4,000 sqm of outdoor sports merchandise on four levels featuring a tent exhibition area for your to experience and build tents up close. It operates from 10 am to 8 pm from Mondays to Saturdays. You can get icebreaker Merino apparels, outdoor clothing and shoes and outdoor equipment from backpacks, bags to tents, sleeping bags or pads, furniture, bicycles, winter equipment, water sports equipment, outdoor lights, knives and tools and more.
I ended up buying a medium-sized Eagle Creek No Matter What travel duffel bag for the extra laundry and purchases whenever I travel. It comes with a stuff sack to store the duffle bag when rolled up.
Get around to the city or airport by tram (Frankfurt Straßenbahn). It is so convenient. If you are not sure how to get around, check with the concierge at 25hours Hotel. I found my way around quite easily.
Not too far away from the hotel is the Ostbahnhof (U6) U Bahn train station. Took the train to Frankfurt Hauptwache station and got to visit Römerberg, Frankfurt Cathedral and MyZeil.
Just at the entrance of the Ostabahnhof Train Station is the Frankfurt Pub. Whilst most people were more interested in getting the tummies filled with food and beer at the pub, I got distracted by the art on the back of the pub facing the entrance to the train station. Don’t forget to get a photo taken here. It’s really quite beautiful.
The European Central Bank is located within the neighbourhood. The main building is located at Sonnemannstrasse 20. It is the central bank for the euro and administers monetary policy of the euro area which consists of 19 EU member states.
Shop for a new suit, jacket, shirts or shoes at Pursuits menswear. It’s just down the road from the hotel, only 350m away or a 4-minute stroll. It is open from 11 am to 8 pm on Mondays to Fridays and from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturdays. Like most other retail outlets, it is closed on Sundays so unfortunate for me I couldn’t check out the store when I decided to explore the neighbourhood on Sunday.
71 m away from 25hours Hotel Frankfurt The Goldman is Hästens. You can pick out a mattress, bedding and sleep accessories. Hästens has a rich history since 1852. The Swedish brand was once master saddlers appointed as Royal Purveyors by the King of Sweden and subsequently concentrated on making beds with the mission to offer customers the best sleep ever.
The Dialog Museum just down the road. Its exhibits focus on human social topics. Ambassadors of the museum are blind and visually impaired. Dialogue in the Dark is based on an idea developed by Professor Dr. Andreas Heinecke within the context of his occupation for ‘Stiftung Blindenanstalt’ in 1988. The exhibition is in complete darkness as a parc, a city or a bar with the help of sounds, scents, textures and authentic props.
The museum is closed on Mondays. It is open Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 5 pm. On Saturdays, it is open from 11 am to 7 pm and on Sundays from 11 am to 5 pm. Every first Thursday of the month the museum closes at 9 pm.
Our three-week European expedition ended here and we went home with a bang flying Etihad Airways to Singapore via Abu Dhabi in Business Class. Read about our experience.
