The latest airport to get a new Star Alliance Lounge is Rome Fiumicino Airport. Eligible First & Business Class passengers and Star Alliance Gold cardholders can access the lounge from today 29 June 2018. The lounge can accommodate 130 guests and operates daily from 5.15 am to 9.15 pm. Star Alliance has cooperated with Aviapartner and Aeroporti di Roma to refurbish the existing lounge space. It is also the first dedicated airline lounge at the airport.
The new lounge is located at the upper level of Boarding Zone D in Terminal 3. You can easily access departure gates for Alliance member carrier flights to European destinations in the Schengen Zone.
The lounge features Italian designer furniture with functional spaces for work, relaxation and to socialise in, a staffed bar and barista coffee station as well as food station with made to order signature dishes. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the lounge, with a mix of standard and USB power outlets. You can make phone calls in a private space.
17 Star Alliance member carriers serve Rome, providing non-stop service to 25 destinations in 20 countries. With the addition of the alliance branded lounge in Rome, Star Alliance now has seven such lounges in Buenos Aires, Los Angeles, Nagoya, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Rome and São Paulo. Star Alliance is developing a new lounge in Amsterdam which is set to open in early 2019. The existing lounges in Nagoya and Paris Charles de Gaulle airport will be refurbished.
