Hong Kong Airlines launched its inaugural flight between Hong Kong and Moscow on 18th May 2018. We just missed our friends from Hong Kong Airlines by a few days as our ship, the River Victoria by UNIWORLD Cruises sailed off from Moscow a few days earlier.
The new seasonal service is operated three times weekly and the airline flies to Vnukovo International Airport (VKO). There are four airports in Moscow. The other three are Domodedovo International Airport (DME), Sheremetyevo International Airport (SVO) and Zhukovsky International Airport (ZIA).
HX 2019 departs Hong Kong (HKG) on Tuesdays at 4.15 pm and arrives in Moscow (VKO) at 9.25 pm. The return flight HX2018 departs VKO at 12.20 am on Wednesdays and arrives in Hong Kong at 3 pm. On Fridays and Sundays, HX 2019 departs HKG at 3 pm and lands in VKO at 8.10pm. The return flight HX 2018 departs on Mondays and Saturdays from VKO at 12.35 am and lands in HKG at 3.15 pm.
A celebratory event was held at Hong Kong International Airport to commemorate the launch of the new service. Hong Kong Airlines Vice Chairman Mr Tang King Shing officiated the ceremony, together with Mr Alexander Kozlov, Consul-General of of Consulate General of Russia, Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR. HX2019 departed HKG on schedule at 3 pm.
