“HKA has been committed to sponsoring students for over a decade, and this reactivation of the sponsorship programmes is a testament to our ongoing pledge to nurture the next generation. We believe that the students will gain inspiration for their personal future development through active participation in field trips and cultural exchanges. We also hope that this programme will foster their creativity and innovation, shaping them into future leaders who will contribute to society. This season, HKA is honoured to collaborate with AAHK to realise this vision.”
Jeff Sun, Chairman of Hong Kong Airlines
Hong Kong Airlines launches its 10th season of its “Embrace The World” Student Sponsorship programme, providing 1,000 round-trip flight tickets for the airline’s flights to Beijing and Shanghai sponsored by the Airport Authority of Hong Kong. This initiative is the airline’s flagship Corporate Social Responsibility programme. It was first launched in 2014, has provided 4,000 round-trip tickets to date and was revived after a five-year habitus.
Hong Kong Airlines has collaborated with Airport Authority of Hong Kong to expand the scope by offering free air tickets to benefit local primary and secondary school students with the aim to enriching their learning beyond the classroom and enable them to broaden their horizons through travel.
Schools participating in this year’s programme must devise an extracurricular activity for students and submit a detailed proposal outlining the learning objectives. Activities can be based on themes like ‘History and Culture’, ‘Innovation and Technology’, or ‘Public and Social Development’, without restriction on the format of the activity. Schools can tailor it to suit their educational needs. Sponsored schools are encouraged to submit travel videos and logs after their travels to showcase and share the students’ exchange experiences and overall journey.
Hong Kong Airlines remains dedicated to fostering the growth and development of youth, strengthening their independent thinking and competitive edge through hands-on experiences and exposure to diverse cultures. The Company is committed to continuing its investment in resources and organising more activities that will benefit the local academic community, inviting more individuals to join HKA in exploring the world.
