ANA has unveiled the features of its first Airbus A380 that will launch in spring of 2019 on the Tokyo – Honolulu route. The upper deck of the aircraft will feature 8 First Class seats, 56 Business Class seats and 73 Premium Economy seats. The main deck will feature 383 Economy Class seats.
Table of Contents
First Class
This is the first time the airline is offering First Class on the resort route. Each seat features its own door offering passengers privacy in their own personal space.
Business Class
Popular with honeymooners and families, the Business Class on the A380 offers pairs of seats, allowing passengers to seat next to each other offering aisle access to all seats.
Premium Economy
Offering 73 seats instead of the usual 20 seats in Premium Economy on ANA’s other aircraft, the FLYING HONUs allow more passengers to experience the premium features.
Economy Class
60 of the 383 Economy Class seats located at the tail end on the main cabin are ANA’s new couch seats. Each couch is comprised of three or four seats and passengers are able to lie on the seats by folding up the leg rests. Passengers will receive a dedicated mattress that will provide added comfort. This couch seat concept is similar to what Air New Zealand and China Airlines are offering.
Cabin Interiors
The interiors of the A380 will offer passengers a feel of the spirit of Hawaii. Walls and lights will illustrate Hawaii’s blue skies, sunrises, sunsets, night skies and iconic rainbows.
Bar counters are introduced in all classes and a multi purpose room has been added behind the main deck to allow mothers to tend to their babies or to allow passengers to change before arriving at their destination.
There will be three designs for the special livery aircraft. In addition to the special blue livery motif FLYING HONUÂ introduced in March 2017 to pay homage to the Hawaiian blue sky, it has added two more colours. Emerald Green is inspired by the crystal clear waters of the Hawaiian ocean while Orange is a reference to the beautiful Hawaiian sunset.
