The Taipei City Government has been promoting the “Taipei Grand Trail” since 2018. It is an urban long-distance hiking route connecting major scenic spots such as Datun Mountain’s volcanic landscape, Taipei’s highest peak Qixing Mountain, Zhuzihu’s hydrangea fields, Baishihu, Maokong and the Four Beasts Trail. This year’s trail is divided into eight sections totalling 92 kilometres. Each section is designed to be completed within a day.
The trail connects with the riverside bike path from Taipei Zoo MRT station to Guandu MRT station, creating a 130-kilometre loop around Taipei. Hikers can verify the completion of each section through the “Hiking Biji APP.” Those who finish all eight sections can redeem exclusive certificates, a custom towel, and performance arm sleeves. Additionally, the first 1,500 people to complete all eight sections will receive a limited-edition 2024 hiking hat. This allows participants to experience the beauty of Taipei’s mountains and receive unique memorabilia as a reward for their efforts.
