Hoi An, Hue and Da Nang are three coastal cities that are located in the central parts of Vietnam and facing the great South China Seas. Unlike Hanoi and Ho Chi Ming which are bustling with traffic and city dwellers. Hoi An, Da Nang and Hue are much less crowded and well preserved UNESCO sites that are open to visitors and wonderful photo spots for hopeful Instagrammers.

Hoi An Ancient Town (UNESCO Site)
If you see UNESCO site and you think it’s going to be boring… then you are so wrong. Hoi An Ancient Town is known for its cafes, restaurants and tailoring too. You can easily spend the whole day café hopping, taking pictures and tailor made all the outfits you need. It’s bustling with domestic tourists, so we recommend you to head there early before 9am to beat the crowd.
When it comes to night time, the Ancient Town will light up with Silk Lanterns. This is another not-to-be-missed site.
Ba Na Hills in Da Nang
This is a theme park located in Da Nang on top of a hill. It has a picturesque view overlooking the city of Da Nang. It went viral last year for having the two Giant Hands holding the bridge. It is a theme park with a lot of Europe inspired architecture, which we called “mini Europe” in Vietnam.
Hoi An Impression Theme Park
If you think that Hoi An Ancient Town is too crowded for your photo taking, you can visit Hoi An Impression theme park. You can take all the time you need to get that perfect shot.
The main reason we recommend this place is not really for photo taking. But to enjoy the epic production of Hoi An Memories Show which is too spectacular to be missed. Although videos are not allowed, you are allowed to take photos … but only restricted to mobile phones. Fortunate for us, we all had our Huawei P30 Pro which comes with up to 50x digital zoom to get the best shot.
On The Way To Hue
There are a few photo spots that you can detour along your way to Hue the Imperial City. One will be the ruins at Han Van Pass (Hai Van Gate) and the other will be Lang Co Beach which you can stop over for some cheap seafood.
Hue The Imperial City
This is a UNESCO site and just like Hoi An Ancient Town, it is crowded with domestic tourists. The Imperial City or Citadel is sometimes being referred to as the Forbidden City of Vietnam. Here you will be able to walk back into time and get immersed in the ancient architectures to learn a bit of the city’ history.
Thuy Tien lake Abandoned Water Park
This abandoned theme park is about 30 mins away from the main city in Hue. It is not operation, so you better bring your own food and drinks, as the main roads are about 10 to 15 minutes hike away.
It was a fun and picturesque trip in Vietnam for us. With the superior camera on the Huawei P30 Pro, it made our photoshoot swift and on point. That’s crucial as there will always be tourists walking into your shots. So to capture it quickly at the best moment is very important.
