In October this year, Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand renewed their alliance for a further five years until March 2024. Both Star Alliance member airlines launched their partnership in January 2015 and have since increased flight frequency between Singapore and New Zealand. This also included the new Wellington-Singapore service via Australia in 2016, along with increased peak season services to Christchurch.  Seat capacity has also been increased by over 25% between the two countries.  The addition of the new evening flight on 28 October boosts capacity by 40% on the route with over 165,000 additional seats annually. During peak months, the airlines will jointly operate a total of 35 return services weekly between Singapore and New Zealand, including the services from Wellington and Christchurch.
