Singapore Airlines’ newest Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, the world’s first 787-10, landed in Singapore this morning after flying from Boeing’s production facility in North Charleston, South Carolina via Osaka.
The new Dreamliner features the all-new Stelia Aerospace Business class seats which recline into 76″ fully-flat beds, with direct aisle access for all customers. They are arranged in a forward facing 1-2-1 staggered configuration. Each seat measures up to 26′ in width with retractable armrests. Adjustable dividers in the centre seats provide privacy.
In Economy Class, the headrests can be adjusted six-ways on the new RECARO seats. The seats are in a 3-3-3 configuration. The IFE screens are 11.6″. There are 36 Business Class seats and 301 Economy Class seats in the B787-900 aircraft.
Singapore Airlines is investing US$350 million on the new regional cabin products.
The new aircraft will be used on flights up to eight hours and will commence scheduled service between Singapore and Osaka as well as Perth in May this year. Crew training will occur on selected flights on the new aircraft to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur prior. Singapore Airlines is the largest customer for the 787-10 with firm orders for 49. It also has a firm order for 20 777-9s that are due for delivery from the 2021/22 financial year.
