Small Luxury Hotels of the World returns to Vietnam with the opening of its new member The Anam Mui Ne in the southern coastal town of Mui Ne in January this year.
Mui Ne is about 200km east of Ho Chi Minh City. A new expressway will open in June this year, reducing the drive from Ho Chi Minh City to just two hours. A new international airport is also set to open come 2025.
This coastal town is known for its beautiful beaches, stunning sand dunes and vibrant kiteboarding scene. Other attractions include the Fairy Stream, which runs through colourful sand formations and cliffs and the Po Shanu Cham Towers, a collection of Hindu temples dating back to the 8th century. Don’t forget to enjoy the fresh seafood dishes available at very reasonable prices in Mui Ne.
The Anam Mui Ne pays homage to colonial-era and classic Vietnamese aesthetics, such as customised encaustic mosaic tiles, Cham decorative vases and statues on plinths, teak furniture crafted from sustainable forests, stone from Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, and authentic thatched roofs from Binh Thuan.
The resort features 127 rooms and suites across six categories. They form a loose rectangular U-shaped configuration that opens up views of the ocean, lush gardens, the resorts’ two saltwater and freshwater swimming pools and Mui Ne town. Clawfoot bathtubs and custom-built furniture such as leather-bound tables add to the resort’s old-world feel.
The resort has two restaurants and a bar. An all-day dining restaurant and grill called The Indochine, as well as the beachside Lang Viet Restaurant and Bar and Saigon Bar in the lobby offers guests different F&B options. In-room dining is also available 24/7.
Single-use plastics are banned on the property. It has also implemented solar power and uses locally sourced ingredients to keep the earth green. Its water filtration plant supplied drinking water in recycled glass bottles. Laundry water is recycled to water the gardens. Straws, bags and bathroom amenities are biodegradable.
Room rates at The Anam Mui Ne start from USD135.
“We are delighted to set our footprint in Vietnam once again with The Anam Mui Ne. Vietnam is fast becoming one of the most sought-after destinations owing to its diverse natural conditions and topography for travellers. Surrounded by diverse natural landscapes and lush foilage, The Anam Mui Ne is an ideal spot to experience what Vietnam’s outdoor tourism can offer, being one of Southeast Asia’s premier kitesurfing spots, and complemented with a nostalgic old-world Indochine charm.”
