Hotel Resonance Taipei, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton property, opened in December 2020 with 175 rooms in a 14-storey building located in Happy Village of Zhong Zheng District in Taipei, Taiwan. This property is the first hotel under the Tapestry Collection by Hilton portfolio in Asia Pacific.
Hotel Resonance Taipei is owned by Times Square International Stays Corp, a subsidiary of Taiwan real estate developer Prince Housing & Development Corp, under a franchise agreement with Hilton. Hilton group has three other hotels in Taiwan including the DoubleTree by Hilton Taipei Zhongshan, Hilton Taipei Sinban and a new DoubleTree by Hilton Yilan Resort which is slated to open in 30 September 2030. The Hilton Group has no immediate pipeline in Taiwan for these two years.
The hotel exterior resembles frames of a film roll that record special moments of life. The neighbourhood used to be a green camphor forest where the main component of synthetic resin celluloid for film rolls were made. Today, Zhongzheng District features the most national and municipal heritage buildings from its early development.

Hotel Resonance Taipei – The Lobby
The spacious lobby welcomes guests with a high ceiling and natural light that comes in through the floor-to-ceiling windows offering a view of the streets that surround the hotel. The cheerful theme of colourful furniture and mood lighting gives guests a feel of a cosy home. Plenty of seating areas for guests to enjoy the company of friends and family or for business meetings.
Guestrooms
There are 175 guest rooms in eight categories with the Guest Room King and Twin entry-level rooms starting at 30 sqm. There are 48 and 70 Guest Rooms in the King and Twin categories respectively. There are also two accessible rooms. The are also 21 x 34 sqm Corner Room King and 20 Corner Twin rooms. Three Deluxe Room King measure 40 sqm while the four Premium Room King measure 45 sqm. The highest category is the 52 sqm Times Suite. There are seven of them.
Guest rooms feature 55” HD TV and International TV channels, media streaming device, a mini-bar refrigerator, a Nespresso capsule coffee machine and tea, an in-room safe that can fit your laptop or iPad Pro, an iron & ironing board, 250-thread count linen, a separate shower and bath, separate toilet with bidet, bathrobes, weighing scale, hairdryer and shoe horn, as well as a digital alarm clock and Bluetooth speaker.
I stayed in one of the King Guest Rooms which was very comfortable. The bed sits on a carpet while the rest of the room isn’t carpeted. This is something I appreciate. Not a fan of carpets. Blackout and sheer blinds are electronically controlled giving you the choice of letting in some light into the room or bathroom, or block out all light from outside.
The Bathroom
While the toilet is separate from the shower and bath area, the thing I enjoyed most about Taiwan or Japan is the bidet washlet and the warm toilet seat. To get from the toilet to the wash shower area, you need to walk through the bedroom.
The Bathtub
A bathtub with differing views outside depends on where your room faces. A soak is perfect for the colder days in Taipei. Take a comforting soak during the cooler days.
Refreshments in the Guest Rooms
After soaking, enjoy a hot beverage. Enjoy the beauty of Taiwanese teas with Jing Sheng Yu brand of tea bags filled with 100% Taiwanese tea leaves or make a cup of Nespresso coffee.
Starbucks in a Hotel
A Starbucks store is located on the ground floor sporting a high ceiling and spacious interiors. Hotel guests enjoy a 10% discount on food & beverage items. And if you booked a breakfast rate for your stay, you enjoy greater value and breakfast credit.
Other Amenities
Other facilities include a 24-hour fitness centre, guest laundry, Being Spa, The Capsule lounge area as well as ice and vending machines. Our key card didn’t give us access to the Capsule Lounge.
There is a decent-sized 24-hour fitness centre in the hotel. After all the feasting and street food in Taipei, you have the option to burn off those access fats and calories you’ve gained by working out at your own pace any time you fancy.
A free self-service laundry is available to hotel guests from 6 am to 10 pm. And you can even monitor the status of your washing machine or dryer from the comfort of your room. That’s a feature when you turn on the television in your room and is unique to Hotel Resonance Taipei. This feature is not available in any other Tapestry Collection properties.
Free self-service laundry service should be offered at more hotels around the world! Allows global nomads to carry less clothing and wash them on the go when they are abroad to help reduce carbon footprint.
The Neighbourhood
We love the location of this hotel. The neighbourhood has much to offer. Hua Shan Market is close by. Get your serving of Fu-Hang Soy Milk early in the morning to skip the long queues. It is also within walking distance to many 7-Eleven and Family Mart convenience stores as well as a Mcdonald’s if you are in the mood for a burger. The Huashan 1914 Creative Park, Simple Kaffa (World’s Best 50 Café) are a three-minute car ride away.
Shandao Temple MRT Station is just a short one-minute walk away while the Taipei Main Station is just two minutes away by car.
