Etihad Airways Makes Changes to Ground and Inflight Services

Etihad Airways is making changes to some of its services opening up some of its premium services previously reserved for Business and First class passengers to customers flying in Economy class from 3 July 2017.

Etihad Airways Chauffeur Service

It is adding a paid option at specially negotiated rates from 3 July 2017 to its chauffeur service in all other cities except at its hub in Abu Dhabi. The paid airport transfer option will be open to all guests across all cabins. Members of Etihad Guest, the frequent flyer programme for Etihad Airways, will be able to accrue miles on chauffeur bookings.

Guests flying in The Residence will continue to receive complimentary chauffeur services at all A380 destinations at Abu Dhabi, London, Paris, Sydney and New York. First and Business Class tickets issued before 3 July 2017 will not be affected by these changes and will receive complimentary chauffeur service across destinations where the service is currently offered.

Etihad Airways attributes this change to the many customers who prefer to make their own ground transportation arrangements as well as to provide increased choice and to ensure fares remain as low and as competitive as possible.

Etihad Airways Lounges

The airline will also offer guests travelling in Economy Class paid access to its dedicated lounges globally including its Premium Lounges in Abu Dhabi, London, Manchester, Dublin, Paris, Washington D.C., New York JFK, Sydney, Melbourne and Los Angeles.

First and Business Class customers as well as the higher tier Etihad Guest members continue to enjoy free access to the Premium Lounges. Business Class passengers can upgrade to the First Class Lounge and Spa when flying through or transiting through Abu Dhabi.

Neighbour Free Seat in Economy Class

The airline introduces Neighbour Free Seating in Economy Class. Customers can bid for up to three empty seats next to their original seat subject to availability and cabin configuration. The increased space, comfort and privacy at an affordable price are available for bidding at the time of online booking and successful bids will be confirmed 30 hours prior to departure.
