Jose Maria Da Fonseca is located a short distance from Lisbon, across the Tagus River on the Setúbal peninsula. Jose Maria da Fonseca created Periquita in 1850 from Castelāo grapes which are indigenous in southern Portugal. The vineyards enjoy sunny maritime climate and a vried soil composed of sand, clay and lime. (Av Dr. Antonio Rodrigures Manito 53-7 f, Lisbon 1150-252, Portugal)
